Occupation: Psychology student/Model/Nanny

Where are you from?

I'm from a small Midwest town in Southeast Iowa.

What does a typical day in the life of Gabrielle look like?

A typical day fro me is yoga & meditation first followed by coffee. Castings, walking around, cruising to thrift shops around Florida. Some days I go to the beach and read or I go to a cafe to do homework. I usually nanny in the evening.

How did you end up being scouted as a model?

I was scouted when I was a senior in high school. My childhood babysitter actually scouted me.

What has been your favorite project to work on?

There has been several projects that have been pretty cool. I did a commercial for Chanel perfume which was this huge set up in California and I had to be there all through the middle of the night. The catered food was awesome ;)

What do you like to do on your off days?

I like to get out of South Beach and go explore other parts of Florida. I like to go out on a boat in the ocean with friends on off days too.

As a model I’m sure you have a rigorous workout plan, any fitness tips to share?

Everyone's body is different so I believe that doing whatever positively influences your health is great. For me personally, I'm a pescatarian, so no meat or dairy besides fish every once in awhile. It works for me as in I have more energy and better gut health because of my diet. Yoga is my stress releaser & Pilates is my power inducer :) Do whatever feels good for you.

Whats your favorite part of being a model?

My favorite part of being a model would have to be meeting a variety of people from around the world. I have made many friends from modeling & also have learned so much from the people I have met in this industry.

Whats your top destination to visit and why?

France. Anywhere in France, but mostly Paris :) I love this country and the people of France too. I love the language and the overall feeling I get while I'm in France. Although, I have not been everywhere in the world yet ;)

What advice would you give to new models?

To not take it too seriously. Have fun and when you aren't having fun anymore, don't push yourself. Stay true to yourself and to your beliefs and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Describe your style?

I think I have a variety of styles because I'm always in a different mood. I am never without gold hoop earrings. I would say that I mostly resort to blue jean shorts and a t shirt with converse and maybe a scarf around my neck. My style is super minimal and sometimes I like to wear a lot of colors while sometimes I dress in all black. A lot of what I wear is from thrift stores. I always go for comfort.

Who inspires you?

My mama. I don't know how she does it sometimes. She's invincible! Besides my mom, I am inspired by Françoise Hardy, Stevie Knicks, and Sitting Bull.

Name some items on your bucket list?

See the whole world, learn another language or two, discover new cultures.

What are your favorite tunes you are listening to right now?

Currently I have been listening to all of the old Dixie Chicks albums, PNL(french rap duo) and Earth Wind & Fire.

The best piece of advice you have ever received and from who?

“Don’t count your chickens before the eggs have hatched” ~ my Uncle Terry; but I think he heard form someone else

Whats your favorite quote?

“She had a voice one infatuated man had compared to velvet wrapped in sandpaper.” ~ from “Homeport” by Nora Roberts

Vaeda Mann

Name: Airaby Vaeda Mann

Hometown: Hattiesburg, MS

Instagram: @livinlavaedaloca

Occupation: model

Where are you from?

Hattiesburg, Mississippi

What does a typical day in the life of Vaeda Mann look like?

If I'm feeling strong and capable, I usually kick things off with a morning workout before breakfast. But if I'm feelin a little more like taking it slow and easy, I'll start my day drinking warm lemon water (life changer), loads of coffee, and throwing on some music while I make a big, beautiful breakfast. The good and sometimes crazy thing about modeling is you never really know what each day will hold. Sometimes you have to be on set by 6 A.M, sometimes you get an email and have to be ready for three different castings in two hours, and some days you have absolutely nothing on the agenda, so you take a nap and contemplate your existence. No day is ever really your typical 9-5, and for that I'm very thankful. But I can guarantee each of my days typically involve lots of coffee, roasting veggies, and a little bit of Gilmore Girls on the treadmill 🤘🏼

How did you end up being scouted as a model?

I was hired for my very first job when I was 16 years old. I had been working sales at the prom dress store Susans Shoppe throughout all of high school, and one of the sales reps for the dress designer Tony Bowls saw my picture, spoke with Tony, and I was on a plane to Little Rock, Arkansas, to shoot his fall collection a few weeks later! I had been freelance modeling ever since, and then 3 years later that same beautiful sales rep and friend introduced me to a scout with Next Models. I finally took the leap in February, flew straight to Miami after finishing a job in Fort Myers, Florida, and signed with Next Models Miami. The last few months have been a dream come true. :)

What has been your favorite project to work on?

Man that's hard, there's always something unique and beautiful about each one! But one of my favorite locations so far was this tricked out gypsy school bus on a farm near Athens, Georgia. We were shooting for a store there, and this bus was covered in all of these different textured curtains and pillows and even had a tiny library in the corner and beads and dream catchers everywhere. It was the coolest dream bus I had ever seen and plus there were free roaming fainting goats all over the farm- that was such a great day 😂

What do you like to do on your off days?

I'm pretty bad at off days honestly, I always feel like I need to be doing something. But while I was in miami, I did become a sucker for afternoon naps on the beach while the sun was going down. Or finding a cool local cafe, bringing my book and journal, and hanging out and decompressing for a while.

You obviously have a rocking bod, any fitness tips to share?

Staying active is important, but I believe it's so much more about what you put IN to your body. I try to stick to whole, natural foods as much as possible- Mama Nature is looking out for us. Eat pure, eat the rainbow, and your mind and body will thank you :)

Whats your favorite part of being a model?

Experiencing new people and new places.

Whats your top destination to visit and why?

There are so many places I want to go, but I'd really love to spend time in Australia one day. The coasts, the food, the sunshine, the animals, the accents!

What advice would you give to new models?

Comparison is without a doubt the thief of joy. Don't let self doubt creep in; I'm still trying to learn and implement that everyday. Believe in yourself and remember kindness, love, and gratitude will take you so far.

Describe your style?

I've got simple and flowy deep in my bones thanks to my hippie mamacita. I love anything simple you can just throw on, deep deep V's, and I almost always have on my red bandana :)

Who inspires you?

Most definitely my mom- every single day. She's been a social worker for 11 years, and her heart for helping people is seriously incredible. As I get older, my admiration for her grows and grows. She's taught me the importance and magic of simply being kind to everyone you encounter ever since day one, and I'm so thankful that she has.

Name some items on your bucket list?

•to one day be on set for a job, taking photos with huge, beautiful, exotic cats and animals... Cuddled with baby cheetahs, lions, tigers, wolves... I would be in absolute heaven on earth.

•to one day open my own breakfast and brunch cafe

•explore Montana, Oregon, and make my way back to Colorado

I add something new to my bucket list everyday though, these are just a few!

What are your favorite tunes you are listening to right now?

My music taste is all over the place depending on my mood. I'm loving Sylvan Esso's new album- Coffee will always be one of my #1's. A little ashamed of how much I love Despacito, too. But I'm usually listening to any classic rock or Willie Nelson or any music by my daddio Mark Mann, especially when I'm on the road and feeling homesick ❤️

The best piece of advice you have ever received and from who?

It may not have been said to me personally (if only) but in Jimi Hendrix's book Starting at Zero, he wrote a letter to a fan and said "regardless of what other people think about you, just so long as you have your freedom of mind and freedom of speech and thought, don't let nobody turn you on your own thoughts and dreams. Love you forever."

Certain pieces of advice impact us in different ways at certain moments of our lives, and that letter really spoke to me- especially after choosing to move and start working instead of going straight to school. We only have this one life :)

Whats your favorite quote?

So many favorites, but I'll always love "if you can be anything at all, be kind."

Emme Martin

Hometown: Santa Rosa Beach, FL

Instagram:@emmemartin

Occupation: Model

Agency: NEXT MODELS

Where are you from?

I’m from a small beach town called Santa Rosa Beach, Fl.

What does a typical day in the life of Emme Martin look like?

Usually every day is different. But typically my days consist of cuban coffee, boxing class (sometimes), going to a casting or a photo shoot, and then hanging out with my friends at the beach or something.

How did you end up being scouted as a model?

I was scouted when I was fourteen from a local modeling competition in my home town. I won the modeling contest and signed with my first agency.

What has been your favorite project to work on?

My favorite project to work on was probably a cover shoot I did for VIE magazine. It was circus themed and I got to wear retro bikinis while riding a carousel and eating ice cream.

What do you like to do on your off days?

I usually end up going to the beach, or hanging out with my friends. We all are into getting together and cooking dinner and watching the bachelor.

You obviously have a rocking bod, any fitness tips to share?

For me, I just try and stay active throughout the day and eat pretty clean. I’m obsessed with weird health foods like green juices, and ginger shots. I also try to go to boxing 3 three times a week. I like to stay healthy 80% of the time so I’m still able to have cheat days because I loveee ice cream.

Whats your favorite part of being a model?

It sounds cliche but really the people I meet are the best part, everyone in this industry is really creative and unique and it makes life more interesting.

Whats your top destination to visit and why?

Definitely the British virgin islands in the Caribbean! The beaches there are incredible and it’s so relaxing. I love having a tan and not having to wear makeup or do my hair when I’m on vacation.

What advice would you give to new models?

I would say to stay true to yourself and not let someone mold you into something you’re not. So many girls think they have to be a certain way but I always find I do the best when I’m myself and feel comfortable. I would also tell them to sign with an agency that has a vision for you. It’s so important your that your agency pushes you and believes in you because then you will too.

Describe your style?

I would say my style is casual cute haha. I feel best when I’m in something I feel comfortable in. I love wearing basics like jeans and a graphic tee and then spicing it up with a cute necklace and cool sneakers.

Who inspires you?

First person that comes to mind is my mom. She the sweetest and funniest person I know. She always tells me to work hard for what I want and to stay true to myself.

Name some items on your bucket list?

I have always wanted to live in Australia. I am actually talking with my agency right now about going there in September! I love traveling and seeing other cultures

What are your favorite tunes you are listening to right now?

Right now I’m listening to lots of Hip hop haha it’s my fav. My roommates and I love Travis Scott, 2chainz, and 6lack. My favorite song right now is What I might do by Ben Pearce though. :)

The best piece of advice you have ever received and from who?

My grandmother would always tell me not to rely on anyone else. I was raised to be very independent, this is the best advice I ever received because it is so important, especially with modeling, to be able to support yourself and be on your own.

Whats your favorite quote?

“Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.” ;)
